14 Sep 2026: questions

Which tithi is it on 14 Sep 2026?

On 14 Sep 2026 in New Delhi, the tithi at sunrise is Shukla Tritiya (Shukla paksha), until 7:07 AM; then Shukla Chaturthi. The month is Bhadrapada (amanta) / Bhadrapada (purnimanta).

Which nakshatra is it on 14 Sep 2026?

Chitra at sunrise, until 1:55 PM; then Swati.

When is rahu kaal in New Delhi on 14 Sep 2026?

From 7:38 AM to 9:11 AM. Yamaganda is 10:43 AM–12:16 PM and gulika 1:49 PM–3:22 PM.

What time is sunrise in New Delhi on 14 Sep 2026?

Sunrise is at 6:05 AM and sunset at 6:27 PM — the Sun's upper limb with standard refraction, the convention of the Indian Astronomical Ephemeris and of Drik Panchang (our times agree with the official ephemeris within a quarter of a minute). Almanacs that print the Sun's centre without refraction give sunrise about 3–4 minutes later and sunset as much earlier.

Is there a vrat or festival on 14 Sep 2026?

Ganesh Chaturthi: Bhadrapada Shukla Chaturthi prevailing at madhyahna; if on both days, the day it covers more (a few minutes of madhyahna on the first day do not count against the full madhyahna of the next). Hartalika Teej (Kevda Trij): Bhadrapada Shukla Tritiya at sunrise (a Tritiya joined with Chaturthi is preferred to one joined with Dwitiya).

Tithi
Each 12° of separation between the Moon and the Sun is one tithi — 30 in a lunar month, 15 in each of the bright (Shukla) and dark (Krishna) halves. A day takes the tithi running at sunrise; sometimes a tithi never touches a sunrise (kshaya) and sometimes one spans two (vriddhi).
Nakshatra
The 27 equal lunar mansions of the zodiac, each 13°20′. The Moon crosses about one a day. Muhurat and naming lean on the nakshatra more than anything else.
Yoga
The sum of the Sun’s and Moon’s sidereal longitudes, in 27 parts of 13°20′, from Vishkumbha to Vaidhriti; Vyatipata and Vaidhriti are avoided for auspicious work.
Karana
Half a tithi — usually two in a day. Nothing auspicious is begun in Vishti (Bhadra) karana.
Vara
The Hindu weekday runs from sunrise to the next sunrise, not from midnight.
Rahu kaal, Yamaganda, Gulika
Daylight split into eight parts, one part each by weekday. Tradition avoids them for beginning something new; ordinary work goes on.
Choghadiya and hora
Choghadiya divides day and night into eight parts each; a hora gives the ruling planet of each twelfth of the day. Both are widely used for business and travel.

Every figure comes from our own engine (VSOP87 / ELP, Lahiri ayanamsa), tested against the Swiss Ephemeris; tithi and nakshatra end times are accurate to about 2 minutes.
