Vomiting in a dream is read by many Indian folk lists as an old trouble or burden leaving, though a few link it with unwanted expense. That is tradition, not a forecast; the dream decides nothing about your health or your money.
What tradition says
Vomiting is the body's way of throwing out what harms it, and old Ayurvedic practice even used induced vomiting (vamana) as a cleanse. Perhaps from that idea, the folk lists read a dream of vomiting as "what was stuck inside has come out". It is often searched as sapne mein ulti.
The lists are clearly divided here:
- Vomiting and then feeling light: release from a debt, a worry or bad company.
- Throwing up food you ate: in some lists, money slipping away or a gain being delayed.
- Seeing someone else vomit: their trouble easing.
- Cleaning up vomit: helping someone sort out their mess.

What psychology says
In Hindi we say yeh baat hazam nahin hui: this did not digest. Psychology often reads vomiting dreams in the same spirit, as a situation, decision or person you cannot inwardly accept. Other common triggers:
- disgust or anger you did not feel able to voice during the day;
- something you want to "get out": a secret or a complaint;
- plain physical causes: a heavy late dinner, acidity, a medicine, or early-pregnancy nausea.
Dreams about being sick in public often carry a separate worry: losing composure in front of others.
A look on waking
If your stomach is fine after the dream, treat it as a message from the mind and ask what you are struggling to "digest". If you have nausea, pain or vomiting while awake, see a doctor rather than a dream book. No dream needs a totka.
