Most almanacs and news sites count with the mean node, so they give Rahu’s entry into Capricorn as 5 Dec 2026. Our engine counts with the true node: 25 Nov 2026. Both are correct computations — the 10.2-day gap comes from the method, not from a mistake.

Rahu and Ketu are not bodies but the two points where the Moon’s orbit crosses the Sun’s path (the ecliptic). The pull of the Sun and Earth turns these points backward through the zodiac once in about 18.6 years. The mean node is the average of that motion — smooth and always backward. The true node is the actual crossing point, which swings around the average by up to about a degree and a half and can even move forward for a few days.
At a sign boundary that swing is what moves the date: this time the true node arrives earlier. We use the true node because it is where the node really is, and eclipses line up with it; in the kundli you can switch to the mean node if your tradition uses it. In practice, treat these 10 days as a changeover rather than fixing on one day.

Why do some calendars say 5 Dec 2026?
They count with the mean (average) node; we use the true (actual) node. The true node swings around the average by up to about a degree and a half, so it crosses the sign boundary 10.2 days apart. Both are correct computations.
