Saturn (Shani) enters Aries (Mesh rashi) on 3 June 2027 at 05:27 IST, per Lahiri ayanamsa, after more than two years in Pisces. With it, sade sati begins for Taurus, deepens for Aries and starts to ease for Pisces, while Virgo and Capricorn begin dhaiya.
The change is not clean, though. Saturn turns retrograde on 9 August 2027 and slips back into Pisces on 20 October 2027, so several of these changes pause or reverse until 23 February 2028. Debilitated Saturn, calmly
Aries is the sign where classical texts call Saturn debilitated (neecha), deepest at 20° Aries. That sounds alarming and is often written up that way. It should not be.
Debilitation describes how comfortable a planet is in a sign, the way a person can be capable but out of their element. It is not a statement about your year. Classical astrology also lists many conditions that cancel or soften debilitation (neecha bhanga), and these depend on your own chart: where the sign's lord Mars sits, whether Saturn's exaltation lord is strong, and so on. Your dasha and Saturn's ashtakavarga points in Aries count for more than the bare fact of debilitation.

Why the 2027 dates pause and resume
Saturn spends about four and a half months of every year retrograde. In 2027 its retrograde begins only two months after it enters Aries, close enough to the boundary that it backs into Pisces on 20 October. So for about four months the sky looks like 2026 again: Pisces is back at the peak, Aquarius is back in its last phase, Taurus is not yet in sade sati.
