Cow dung in a dream may sound odd to city readers, but folk tradition mostly reads it as auspicious: blessing in the home, plenty of food and money, and purity. That is a village belief, not a forecast. The Hindi search is sapne mein gobar dekhna.
Why dung counts as lucky
In Indian villages cow dung was never simply dirt. Mud courtyards and hearths were plastered with it, and a freshly plastered courtyard before a festival was a sign of an auspicious home. On the day after Diwali, the Govardhan hill is shaped out of dung for Govardhan Puja; in many places a small dung Ganesh is made for worship; and dung cakes, uple, were long the kitchen's fuel. In a culture that calls the cow gau mata, her dung too was counted among pure things.
So dream lists tie gobar to wealth and good harvests. Many lists already read dreams of excrement "in reverse", as gain, and with cow dung that sense is stronger still.

This dream often comes to people whose childhood touched village life. It returns as a memory of cows, fields and a mother or grandmother plastering the courtyard. For someone raised in a city, the same image can bring disgust, a "dirty job", and then the dream is usually about a task you are putting off. If the dream brought back home and village, call an elder in the family; such dreams often come from missing them. If it brought disgust, ask which messy but necessary job you have been avoiding. No puja or remedy is needed.
