Pisces, called Meen rashi in Hindi (Meena in Sanskrit), is the twelfth and last sign of the sidereal zodiac, from 330° to 360°, and it is ruled by Jupiter. It is a dual water sign symbolised by two fish swimming head to tail, and it is the sign where Venus is exalted and Mercury is debilitated.
In India, "Meen rashi" nearly always means the Moon's sign at birth, the janma rashi, which is what the Pisces rashifal, naming letters and marriage matching use. - Uttara Bhadrapada, all four padas (333°20′ to 346°40′). Ruled by Saturn, with Ahir Budhnya, the serpent of the deep, as deity. Uttara Bhadrapada is calm, deep and patient: depth of feeling held with restraint. It gives Pisces backbone.
- Revati, all four padas (346°40′ to 360°). Ruled by Mercury, with Pushan, the nourisher and guide of travellers, as deity. Revati is gentle, protective and kind, especially to the young, the lost and animals.
The final degrees of Revati, where Pisces meets Aries, form one of the three gandanta junctions between water and fire signs. Tradition reads these points with extra care in birth charts and muhurta. They mark a transition, not a misfortune.
