Common misreadings
- "Saturn harms whatever house it sits in." In the 3rd, the opposite is the classical view: an upachaya lets a malefic be useful.
- Assuming conflict with siblings. The sibling theme is real in the texts but broad. A friendly-sign Saturn often shows a sibling relationship built on duty and loyalty rather than distance.
- Missing the 9th-house aspect. Saturn's 7th aspect on the 9th can matter as much as its seat, especially for the father and for faith.
- Western house confusion. In a tropical, quadrant-house chart Saturn may appear in another house; this reading assumes sidereal, whole-sign houses.
