Read these as tendencies from an era that judged a planet alone; the lagna and dignity change them a great deal.
Common misreadings
- Treating every planet in the 8th as trouble. A natural benefic here is not read like Saturn or Mars in the same house, and Venus is widely seen as one of the easier occupants.
- Assuming it means a difficult marriage. The 8th touches the spouse's wealth and family, not a verdict on the marriage. The 7th house, its lord and the navamsa say far more.
- Forgetting the aspect on the 2nd. Venus from here shapes speech and family wealth too.
