Venus in the 11th house places the planet of pleasure, beauty and harmony in the house of gains, income, friends, elder siblings and fulfilled wishes. It is widely treated as a comfortable position: the 11th welcomes nearly every planet, and Venus there tends to make income flow through charm, art and good company.

- Income from what is beautiful or enjoyable. Gains through arts, entertainment, design, fashion, cosmetics, hospitality, jewellery or luxury trade are traditional readings.
- A wide, warm social circle. Venus makes friends easily from here, often among artistic, cultured or well-off people, and those friendships tend to be useful as well as pleasant.
- Elder siblings, especially sisters. Tradition often reads an affectionate relationship with elder siblings, or help from an elder sister.
- Wishes that come true through ease. The 11th is the house of desires fulfilled, and Venus tends to fulfil those that concern comfort, pleasure and relationship.
The 11th is an upachaya house, which improves as life goes on, and a panapara (succedent) house. Classical rule of thumb says malefics do well in upachayas, but the 11th is special: almost every planet is welcomed here, benefics included. Jupiter is its karaka, not Venus. The natural eleventh sign is Aquarius, ruled by Saturn, a friend of Venus, and Venus has no special digbala status in this house, neither full nor zero.
How the sign changes Venus in the 11th
The lagna fixes the sign in the 11th, and with it Venus's dignity:
- Taurus lagna: the 11th is Pisces, where Venus is exalted. Venus is the lagnesh as well as the 6th lord, so the self and its efforts are placed directly in the house of gains, in the planet's best sign.
- Cancer lagna: the 11th is Taurus, Venus's own sign. Venus rules the 4th and 11th for Cancer, so the 11th lord sits in its own house; property, vehicles and comforts are often part of the income.
- Sagittarius lagna: the 11th is Libra, own sign and moolatrikona. Venus rules the 6th and 11th here, so gains may come through service, competition or overcoming rivals.
- Scorpio lagna: the 11th is Virgo, where Venus is debilitated. Venus rules the 7th and 12th for Scorpio; gains through the spouse or partnerships may need more care and effort. Neecha-bhanga conditions can ease the debility.
Among friends, Venus is at ease in Aquarius (Aries lagna), Gemini (Leo lagna) and Capricorn (Pisces lagna). In Cancer (Virgo lagna) and Leo (Libra lagna) it is in an enemy's sign and tends to earn more slowly.
Venus aspects the 5th: romance and creativity
The only aspect (drishti) Venus casts is the 7th, which from the 11th lands on the 5th house: romance, children, creativity, intelligence and the merit of past lives. This is one of the more romantic aspects Venus can make. It often shows love that grows out of friendship, a lively creative streak, a fondness for children, and a light-hearted enjoyment of entertainment and play. The 11th lord and Venus's own lordship
The lord of the 11th sign has a large say in how gains arrive. If Venus sits in Aries, Mars as 11th lord shapes the income; if in Leo, the Sun does. Then consider what Venus rules for your lagna:
- Capricorn lagna: Venus is the yogakaraka, ruling the 5th and 10th, and sits in Scorpio, Mars's sign. A yogakaraka in the house of gains is a strong indication of income through career and creative work.
- Aquarius lagna: Venus is again the yogakaraka (4th and 9th lord), here in Sagittarius, Jupiter's sign. Fortune and comforts turn into gains, often through property, teaching or foreign links.
- Libra lagna: Venus is the lagnesh and 8th lord, placed in Leo, an enemy's sign. The person tends to earn through their own personality and network, though the Sun as dispositor adds a streak of pride to the picture.

Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra provides the underlying rules: the significations of the 11th house, the upachaya houses, Venus as karaka of pleasures and the spouse, its dignities, its single 7th aspect and its role as yogakaraka for Capricorn and Aquarius. Traditional authors who list results by house broadly describe Venus in the 11th as bringing wealth, comforts, vehicles, good friends and success in love. Common misreadings
- Equating gains with greed. The 11th is about fulfilment and networks, not only money; Venus here often gains through friendship and goodwill.
- Ignoring the 11th lord. An exalted Venus in a house whose lord is weak can still see gains delayed.
- Forgetting it aspects the 5th. Much of this placement's charm shows in romance, children and creative pleasure.
- Reading from the tropical zodiac. Western tropical houses may put Venus in another house; this page uses sidereal, whole-sign houses.
